Cool and restrained aromas are composed by notes of essence of red berries humus and forest floor. The juicy yet punchy and serious medium-bodied flavors exude evident minerality on the very well-delineated flavors that flash a hint of bitter pit fruit character on the youthfully austere and persistent finish. This is a somewhat unusual LSJ in that it's a more refined and less powerful wine than I typically find from Jadot.
The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques (Domaine Louis Jadot) opens in the glass with aromas of cherries, cassis and plums, complemented by hints of smoke and toasty new oak. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and charming, it's bright and elegant, with fine tannins and a long, mineral finish.
