Vosne Romanee Jachees, Domaine Jean Yves Bizot 2015

Tasting Notes

Jean-Yves Bizot's 2015 Vosne-Romanée Les Jachées is a striking wine, and this bottle's explosive aromas of Indian spices, red berries, violets and cinnamon did much to conceal the fact that it's actually quite closed on the palate. Medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, this Vosne-Romanée is framed by powdery tannins and concludes with a pungently perfumed finish, but it will need a few more years to reveal the full extent of its textural plenitude. 2022 - 2040

This is arguably the most floral-inflected wine in the range with its notes of violet, lavender and rose petal that add breadth and elegance to the dark cherry and red currant scents that are trimmed in just enough wood to mention. There is a wonderfully seductive texture to the sappy, caressing and delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent length on the dusty, balanced and complex finale. Another quality Vosne villages that is worth considering. Note: from a relatively obscure 1.3 ha vineyard that is rarely listed on most maps of the commune; it is situated between La Colombière and Bossières - Bizot owns .7 ha Drink: 2022+
