The 2021 bottling of 1966 Rivesaltes is fantastic. Reddish amber in the glass, the nose is high toned and nutty, both deeply savoury and honeyed. Musky, rich and dried fruit comes with notes of old books and mahogany wood. It is deep, rich and impressive. There is sweetness as always, but this is wrapped up in a heady profile of christmas pudding and dried fig. Very long and almost saline on the finish, this shows both generosity and precision throughout.
