Vinsobres VV Hauts de Julien, Perrin - Château de Beaucastel 2020

Tasting Notes

A deep purple colour in the glass, the dark, brooding nose always reveals the healthy level of Syrah in this blend. Liquorice, smoked duck, blackberry and baking spices altogether - this is ripe and seductive. The palate is rich and foll bodied, with layers of blackberry and damson together with tapenade and more aniseed tones. The tannins are chunky but ripe, offering a broad-shouldered structure against the fruit that tames some of the riper elements in the wine. Powerful, hedonistic and long on the finish.
