Charmes Chambertin Les Mazoyeres, Domaine Georges & Christophe Roumier 2019

Tasting Notes

Scents of orange rind, rose petals, cherries, wild berries and spices preface the 2019 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, a medium to full-bodied, ample and layered wine that's rich and concentrated, with lively acids and a chalky, mineral finish.

**Note: from a .27 ha parcel of vines planted in 1935**
A very fresh nose freely reveals its aromas of essence of various red berries, pungent earth and subtle floral nuances that are also trimmed in just enough wood to notice. There is both good cut and detail to the solidly powerful and relatively big-bodied flavors that aren't quite as intense though they do offer very fine length on the quite firmly structured and youthfully austere finish.
