Clos de Vougeot, Château De La Tour 2018

Tasting Notes

The 2018 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru has turned out very nicely, unwinding in the glass with aromas of blackberries, cassis, dark chocolate, sweet soil tones and peonies. Full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's deep and youthfully reserved, with powdery tannins, succulent acids and chalky grip on the finish.

Quite deeply colored. Liqueur-like dark currant aromas include hints of spice, warm earth and a whiff of violet. The relatively dense, muscular and powerful broad-shouldered flavors possess solid punch before terminating in a youthfully austere, complex and impressively long finish where a trace of warmth slowly emerges. This exhibits fine development potential so be prepared to be patient.
