An overtly spicy nose primarily reflects notes of petrol and citrus nuances. The succulent, round and delicious medium weight flavors exude a lovely minerality on the attractively bracing bitter lemon-infused finish. Drink: 2024+ Note: from 60+ year old vines; Ente said that 2018 will be the last vintage for several years as the vines are being pulled up; also, this will be bottled only in magnum
Ente's 2018 Bourgogne Aligoté, the swan song for this cuvée, is showing beautifully from bottle, mingling aromas of citrus zest and white flowers with hints of fresh bread and yeast extract. Medium-bodied, bright and charming, with lively acids and an open, giving profile, it's deceptively charming out of the gates, but I suspect it will put on depth with a bit of bottle age.
