Bonnes Mares, Domaine Jean Grivot 2015

Tasting Notes

No, despite appearances to the contrary, including this wine was not a mistake. Grivot explained that he made a small quantity from purchased fruit but that he chose not to continue with the contract so this is essentially a one-vintage wine. An elegant, pure and extremely pretty nose features a well-layered array of various red berries, earth and soft wood elements. While there is good verve to the middle weight flavors, they're not nearly as concentrated as those of the Richebourg, all wrapped in a refined and classy finale. To be sure, this is really quite good but it's simply not at the same level as other grands crus.
