From a new appellation (authorised in 2011), the vineyards overlook the famous Château de Chenonceau. Planted on clay/silex soils on the edge of the Cher river, this Sancerre lookalike shows restraint on the nose, complexity and layers of flavour on the palate, all kept fresh by citrus acidity. Finishes with lingering savoury, sappy and zesty characters. A great advert for this new Touraine AP.
Drinking Window 2021 - 2023 - by Andy Howard MW from "Great alternatives to Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume - expert's choice"
From vines sloping down to the River Cher, this bottling brings out the richness of wines from this cru region. Full of layers of citrus and well-textured spice and minerality, the wine is still young and will benefit from further aging. Drink from 2022.
