O Diviso, Compania de Vinos Telmo Rodriguez 2016

Tasting Notes

The third vintage of the single-vineyard wine from the village of As Ermitas is the 2016 O Diviso, from the 1.2 hectares of old vines of mixed varieties that remain in these granite slopes on the Bibei banks of Valdeorras. The further 1.7 hectares of newly planted vines are not yet in production. This wine tends to be the most austere of their Valdeorras bottlings; it's serious and nuanced, beautifully textured and with a tasty, almost salty finish. This is extremely elegant, very precise, nuanced and complex, subtle and a little shy at first. This is beautiful, and in 2016, I liked it even better than As Caborcas. 2016 was especially low yielding, and unfortunately, only 962 bottles were produced. It was bottled in May 2017. Drink 2019-2029.
