Clos de la Roche, Louis Jadot 1999

This is big-boned but doesn't have the same exceptional level of extract as the Bonnes Mares. That said, there are adequate levels of sweet, sappy pinot extract and very good intensity with a kirsch infused, almost pinot syrup quality to the flavors. Rich and long though not especially complex and it offers plenty of elegance. Solid if not exceptional wine that should be approachable on the young side.
