Benje Blanco, Envinate 2021

Tasting Notes

The Benje Blanco is made entirely of old vine Listán Blanco, harvested from several different plots around the island. Twenty-five percent of the cuvée is fermented on its skins and the wine is raised in a mix of cement vats and old Burgundy barrels. The 2021 Benje shows off stellar depth on the nose, wafting from the glass in a gently reductive mix of tart orange, lemon, iodine, salty minerality, dried flowers and citrus peel. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and very elegant in profile, with lovely depth at the core, good mineral undertow and grip, bright acids and fine focus on the long and beautifully balanced finish. Fine juice. 2023-2045
