Tasting Notes

One of the stars of the vintage, this opague purple-colored St.-Emilion exhibits aromas of the new saddle leather, damp earth, black berries, incense, cassis, and toast. An intriguing tapenade note emerges with airing. Full-bodied, with sweet tannin, low acidity, and impressive concentration, it can be enjoyed now and over the next 10-12 years. Last tasted, 3/02.

Robert Parker, Bordeaux Book (4), December 2003

Lots of ripe berry, almost raisiny aromas, with hints of mocha and spices. Medium to full bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, rich almost syrupy aftertaste. Give it time. Much better than from barrel. Best after 2004. 3250 cases made.

This estate is an intelligent choice for insiders looking for Chateaux making super wines that are not yet considered fashionable. This is a concentrated blockbuster...Exceptionally impressive for the vintage.
