Deeply colored with a nose that reluctantly yields a whiff of black cherry fruit and the sauvage character often found in classic Vaucrains. The flavors are big and solid but not huge and they are a touch one-dimensional at this point. The tannins are less rustic and hard than normal as well. A very good but not a great Gouges Vaucrains.
