The Farr Vintners Summer Sale 2010 has been a great success and we are now pleased to release the final update before the sale closes. Red Hot 2007 Rhones

Farr Vintners recently sent out an offer of highly rated Chateauneuf du Papes from Domaine de la Charbonnière in the fantastic 2007 vintage. The 50 cases each of the single vineyard Hautes Brusquières and Vielles Vignes sold out in about 2 hours and we know that many customers were disappointed to miss out on these highly rated (95 and 94 points) and modestly priced wines.

Wine Spectator's Review of New Zealand Wines

In the upcoming June issue Wine Spectator has made a huge review of New Zealand wines (nearly 250 wines were reviewed) and we are proud to announce that we have 6 of the top 11 and all at £295 per case or less.

Domaine d'Eugénie 2008 - better than DRC?!

Farr Vintners is very pleased to announce the release of the third vintage of Domaine d'Eugénie and, once again, we have been offered a precious allocation of these wines. Allen Meadows, who thinks that the 2008s are "surprisingly good" has once again given ratings for these wines that put them ahead of DRC (in both Echezeaux & Grands-Echezeaux) and rates this benchmark Clos de Vougeot the highest rating against the other 40 growers tasted.

Hauts de Smith Rouge 2005

Les Hauts de Smith 2005 is a wine that we know well at Farr Vintners and it's very popular with the sales team - most of us drink it at home on a regular basis. We also blind-tasted it recently up against a dozen other 2005's that are considerably more expensive and no-one could identify which wine was the Hauts de Smith.

Vins Doux Naturel

Farr Vintners is particularly proud of its selection of ancient Vin Doux Naturels, which have impressed many of our customers in recent tastings. We are currently shipping a new batch of wines from vintages ending with a "0" so that customers born in 1970, 1960, 1950, 1940 and 1930 can celebrate their milestone birthdays in 2009 with their birth year wines.

Very rare, old vintages of Château d'Yquem (ex-Château)

Farr Vintners is delighted to offer an extensive range of extremely rare, historic vintages of the world's greatest sweet wine, Château d'Yquem. These bottles have all been recently released by the Château and offer a unique chance to acquire some truly great, mature Yquem, not to mention the opportunity to drink a piece of history.

2002 Bordeaux Tasting: Anthony Barton's Brilliant Double Whammy!

Farr Vintners recently held a comprehensive tasting of the 2002 Red Bordeaux vintage. The wines of Anthony Barton enjoyed stunning success with Langoa Barton absolutely walking the Saint Julien flight by a comfortable margin and Leoville Barton beating all-comers in the "super-second" flight.

Ruinart: A truly great, non-vintage Champagne!
