Tasting Notes

The excellent 1996 is a potential sleeper of the vintage. The wine offers a dark ruby color, and sweet black cherry fruit intermixed with smoke, dried herbs, and toast. This round, generous, medium to full-bodied wine is already delicious; enjoy it over the next 4 - 5 years. Last tasted, 3/01.

The 1996 exhibits a complex, smoky, roasted herb, sweet black-cherry, and licorice nose that is surprisingly forward for a 1996. Soft, round, silky-textured fruit flavors reveal low acidity, as well as a succulent texture. Drink this chewy, lush St.-Emilion over the next 5-8 years. Last tasted, 11/97.
