Tasting Notes

(Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese #08) AP: 08 12. This offers all the drama of a top notch TBA with baroque flavors of dried fruits, a great zesty oiliness on the palate and a stunning feel of Christmas cake fruits in a seemingly never-ending finish. Despite the opulence and the almost painful intensity, this wine remains just incredibly captivating and seductive, and one is drawn back to the glass to find out more about it. This is a stunning wine with incredible presence and length. 2031-2081

Rich golden-yellow. Opulent aromas of papaya, passion fruit, mint, nut oil and honeyed botrytis. Unctuously rich tropical fruits coat the palate. More rich and creamy than delicate, but savory too, delivering complex spiciness, animated minerality and excellent length. One of the great noble sweet rieslings of the vintage.
