Nuits St Georges les Vaucrains, Domaine Henri Gouges 2011

Tasting Notes

**Note: a 1 ha mix of younger and older vines that average about 50+ years of age**
This is also somewhat toasty though not so much that the earthy, ripe and distinctly sauvage aromas of plum and cassis cannot be appreciated. The palate impression is strikingly rich and muscular and the typical bold and brash flavors of a classic Vaucrains are present before terminating in a wonderfully intense, austere and hugely long finish. As is almost always the case with the Gouges Vaucrains, this is very firmly structured and will need all of a decade and very probably then some to fully mature.
