**Note: from vines planted in 1920 situated in a parcel that touches Chambertin**
This is slightly riper than the regular cuvée of Clos de Bèze and perhaps even spicier with brooding dark berry fruit liqueur and earth aromas. This is presently a massive yet not inelegant wine with superb intensity and richness to the robust and overtly muscular flavors that brim with dry extract that serves to buffer the chewy and dense tannins on the austere, strict and forcefully explosive finish. This is a breathtaking wine in several respects yet somehow remains well-proportioned and built to improve for at least 20 years and will probably see its 100th birthday in fine fettle. Only for the very patient.
