The estate's 1999 Brut Extra Cuvee de Reserve (60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay) is rich and creamy-textured in its generous expression of honey, apricots and roasted nuts. With some time in the glass, notes of smokiness and minerals emerge, adding further complexity. This medium-bodied wine possesses notable harmony and balance, with terrific length and a long, sweet finish. Simply put, this is gorgeous stuff. This bottle was disgorged December 4th, 2007. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2019.
Lovely complexity on the nose - really interesting wine! Complete without being aggressive with a great finish. Long and very serious - not very 1999 in fact!
