Bright lemon colour in appearance, the nose is creamy with a hint of oak, and fresh with lemons, pears and peaches. The palate is rich and intense with peaches and cream, crême brulée and lemon curd. There is great concentration but the weight of fruit is balanced by zippy, refreshing acidity that gives this wine great balance. The hint of toast from oak supports the fruit on the long, sumptuous finish. Absolutely delicious.
A little mealy on the nose. Tense and tight. Great structure on the palate but it’s a bit loose on the nose. Tricky to score but admirable that it’s still so exciting on the palate in 2016.
A deft touch of wood allows the riper and mildly exotic aromas of mostly yellow orchard fruit aromas to shine and does not impinge on the textured, rich and unctuous medium-bodied flavors that possess much better supporting energy and focus on the almost surprisingly bone dry finish. Drink 2014+
