Tasting Notes

This is the most amazing wine this estate has ever produced. It is rich and long-lived. It boasts a dark purple color, as well as sweet, earthy, black currant and cherry liqueur-scented nose. There is terrific fruit intensity and purity, as well as moderate tannin in the medium-bodied, impressively rich finish. This wine should drink well between 2002-2014. A sleeper of the vintage.

Dense and dark crimson.Very different style of St-Estèphe from most. Some voluptuousness about the nose. Very complete with a beginning, middle and end - though just a hint of opverripeness - most unusual in this vintage! It would be easy to take this for quality but I am looking for a little more refreshment value. Oak is evident. Just a bit too earth-bound. Drink 2007-17

This wine is the finest Potensac I have tasted in the last 2 decades, perhaps the finest ever made. The dense opaque ruby/purple color is followed by aromas of sweet black currant fruit intermixed with earth and minerals. Dense and rich, with sweet tannin, good but low acidity, and an accessible, supple personality, this is a surprisingly intense wine that should age well. It is a sleeper of the vintage.
