Nero d'Avola Il Moro Limited Edition, Valle Dell'Acate 2008

Deep ruby colour with a rich plum and blackberry nose layered by hints of menthol and herbs. The palate has a core of ripe black cherry and blackberry fruit, with fine but firm tannins balancing the ripeness and adding a savoury leather and tobacco note to the mid-palate. These two elements knit together to leave a smoky yet sumptuous black fruit finish.

Ripe dark-skinned berry, underbrush, new oak, vanilla leather, sage and cured meat aromas meld in the glass. The full-bodied palate offers dried black cherry, raisin, fig, licorice and exotic spice alongside velvety tannins.
