Tasting Notes

Woodsy aromas of wild herbs, tobacco and tar conceal the core of cherry for now, but the fruit is more apparent on the palate. Sweet, vibrant and firmly structured, with admirable energy and drive at this stage. Offers a long, mouthwatering finish. Best from 2020 through 2026. 675 cases made.

Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, August 2015

A beautiful and refined red with plum and berry character and hints of hazelnuts. Full body, fine and chewy tannins and a fresh, long finish. Better in 2018.

James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com, April 2015

Palish ruby with broad orange-tinged rim. Iron, orange and dark cherry all in abundance on the nose. This screams Nebbiolo. Compact and tight and perfectly balanced palate. Wonderful acidity, almost burgundian in style except for the truly muscular tannins.
