A strikingly elegant and high-toned nose of green apple, white flower and hints of lemon rind merge into intensely stony and pure full-bodied flavors that deliver excellent punch and length on the explosive finish. This is still a bit awkward but this indisputably possesses the best material in the range.
Piquant aromas of lime, quinine, ginger, spearmint, powdered stone and pepper. Large-scaled, fat and rich, but with an almost peppery impression of alcohol (this weighs in at 14.2%) currently blurring the wine's fruit and minerality. A rather extreme style, leaving behind a note of malt whiskey in the retronasal passage. Not my favorite version of Corton-Charlemagne.
