A more restrained nose combines aromas of mineral reduction, petrol, pear, apple and acacia. There is a lovely sense of energy to the intensely stony ultra-refined flavors that exhibit excellent persistence on the focused and balanced finale. This is at once seductive and classy and should also drink reasonably well young but reward up to a decade of cellaring.
The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières comes from 1.2-hectares split over three parcels. It has a tightly-wound bouquet with dried yellow flowers filtering through the citrus fruit, although I wanted to see more stoniness to anchor its vineyard location. The palate is well balanced with citrus peel, lime and orange zest on the entry. There is certainly a lot of concentration here and I appreciate the spicy, stem ginger finish. I would have just liked more persistence on the aftertaste, but otherwise, this is a commendable Meursault Perrières.
