Charmes Chambertin VV, Domaine Bachelet 2015

Tasting Notes

Don't miss!
Here too there is moderate wood framing more elegant and more complex aromas that are composed by spice, earth and essence of red berry fruit liqueur scents. The cool, restrained, classy and equally pure medium-bodied flavors are supported by super-refined tannins yet the naturally sweet finish is powerful and hugely long. The structure is dense but fine and while this seems deceptively approachable, it's going to require at least 12 to 15 years to arrive at its full apogee. Wonderful. Drink: 2027

Denis Bachelet's 2015 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes is brilliant, soaring from the glass with a dramatic bouquet of plum, wild berries, rose petal and orange rind, elegantly framed by creamy new oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and multidimensional, with excellent depth and mid-palate dimension, incredibly velvety tannins, succulent acids and a long, saline finish. Despite this fabulously expansive Charmes's textural grace and refinement, considerable structure is lurking beneath the surface, and it will reward patience.2025 - 2055
