Erdener Pralat Auslese Alte Reben Goldkap, Weingut Dr. Hermann 2018

The 2018 Erdener Prälat Riesling Auslese Alte Reben (Gold Capsule) is stunningly coolish and flinty on the nose, where the tropical fruit aromas are discreet but fresh (like a lush pineapple). The palate is generously ripe, dense and elegant, with lingering salinity and finesse. Picked at 110° Oechsle, including 10% perfectly healthy raisins, the wine was bottled with 120 grams per liter of residual sugar and 7% alcohol. Only 300 liters were made. Tasted in March 2019. 2025-2060
