Chambolle Musigny Les Fuées, Domaine Perrot-Minot 2014

Tasting Notes

Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, the 2014 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées from Perrot-Minot offers irresistible redcurrant and wild strawberry scents on the nose, an underlying mineral seam coming through with time in the glass. The oak here is beautifully assimilated. The palate is very well balanced, a stylish and graceful Chambolle with a slight meatiness and savoriness evident toward the finish. I find this aspect just jars with the purity of the nose and prompted me to dock a point, but it would not surprise me to find this meriting a higher score with bottle age. Tasted September 2017.
