The 2016 Clémentin de Pape Clement has a medium to deep garnet-purple color with crushed blackberries, cedar chest and allspice on the nose and new leather, unsmoked cigars and cassis in the background. Medium-bodied and finely crafted, with a good core of delicate black fruits, it has a plush frame and a spicy finish.
The 2016 Clémentin de Pape Clément Rouge offers simple raspberry and crushed strawberry scents. The palate is smooth on the entry, displaying supple tannin, fine acidity and just a little oak still to be subsumed toward the truffle-tinged finish. Fine.
