Chambolle Musigny Les Charmes, Domaine Hudelot-Baillet 2015

Tasting Notes

The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru is showing a little more new oak on the nose than I would like, as well as more blue fruit, here mixed with cassis, which obscures the terroir expression. The medium-bodied, almost nubile palate offers sappy red fruit and turns voluminous and generous toward the finish, which features pure kirsch, blueberry and veins of white pepper. Thoroughly enjoyable, if not quite delivering the breeding of its peers. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (Drink between 2020-2033)
