Located between Burgundy and Switzerland, this region has many similarities to Burgundy although many of the vineyards are planted at relatively high altitudes in the Jura mountains.
The region's most famous wine is Vin Jaune, a distinctive wine which is made from Savagnin grapes and is produced in a similar style to Sherry. Other grapes such as Poulsard, Trousseau, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir also call this region home and produce much more conventional, albeit unique, expressions of wine.
