Tasting Notes

This is still displaying a discreet application of wood that highlights the ripe, cool and elegant notes of both red and black pinot fruit, earth and a subtle trace of truffle. There is good richness to the delicious and focused middle weight flavors that possess a silky mid-palate before culminating in a distinctly mineral-driven finish that delivers fine if not extraordinary length. While this could certainly be enjoyed now due to the refinement of the mid-palate and well-integrated tannins I would be inclined to give this at least another 5 years and 7 to 10 would be better, especially in magnum format. In sum this is a lighter vintage for this wine but one that is quite satisfying all the same.
