The rare dry white wine of Château Pape Clément is made from around 50:50 Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc with a touch of Sauvignon Gris and Muscadelle.
Mainly Savignon Blanc with some Semillon, Sauvignon Gris and Muscadelle. Maturation in 20% new oak, concrete eggs, ceramic tanks and foudres.

The 2024 Pape Clément Blanc has a seductive nose with wild peach, citrus peel, tangerine and light white flower scents opening in the glass. The palate is fresh on the entry and a little pithier than its peers, suggesting more solids "in the mix." As a consequence, there is a tad more weight on the finish. Though it perhaps lacks a little complexity overall, I am intrigued to see how this will age in bottle. 2028 - 2048
The 2024 Pape Clément Blanc emerges from the glass with aromas of pear, confit citrus, lime and herbs, followed by a moderately weighted, supple and lively palate built around tangy acids that culminate in a fresh, fruity finish.
Pale lemon colour. Good musky, rich fruit on the nose, blending sauvignon's energy with semillon's waxinesss. The wood is well judged, lined with fruit and well balanced. This is an impressive nose. The palate, too, is well done; it is energetic, vibrant, and fine boned. Juicy pear fruit mixes with some waxy yellow apple and honeysuckle. Spicy but certainly not as dominated by wood as some previous versions, this is a strong effort that is harmonious yet mouthwatering and moreish. Excellent.
Needs a little swirling to coax out notes of fresh apricots, juicy pears, and green mango, leading to hints of lime blossoms and sea spray. The light to medium-bodied palate is silky and refreshing with loads of orchard fruit layers and a compelling savoriness on the finish.
50% Sauvignon Blanc, 43% Sémillon, 7% Sauvignon Gris. 3.15 pH, aging 50% in oak barrels (1/3 new), 40% in foudres and 10% in ceramic/concrete, to be bottled in Dec 2025. Yields of 37 hl/ha.
Appealingly ripe and luscious fruit, apricot, citrus blossom, slate texture, no need to wait but it will age, great length on the finish, sage and lemongrass, great quality. Harvest 4 to 19 September. 41 hl/ha. 12 months of ageing in barrels and amphoras
The 2024 Pape Clément Blanc is stellar. Rich and deep, the 2024 stands out because of its textural density and almost phenolic feel. The 2024 is being raised in 50% oak (one-third new), 40% foudre and 10% a mix of ceramic, cement and stainless steel. Citrus confit, dried herbs, white pepper and chalk build as this imposing, structured white shows off its distinctive personality. Tasted four times. 2028-2036.
Spiced guava, lemon zest and meringue. Bright and lightly saline on the palate with medium body and a long, nicely phenolic finish. Bone-dry but flavorful.
