This château was created in the 1950s by the late Henri Martin who was also the regisseur of Château Latour. Consequently it does not appear in the 1855 classification but surely would if it were ever updated. Along with big brother Saint Pierre, the quality here has improved massively in the last few years and this is a top St Julien performer these days. There are 50 hectares of vines which are planted 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot. Usually St Julien's best value.
Gloria 2024 is 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc. This was the first year certified organic and the yield was 35 hl/ha. ABV 13%.

Aromas of blackberries, cassis and toasty oak introduce the 2024 Gloria, a medium-bodied, lively wine built around youthfully chalky tannins.
The 2024 Gloria has a light nose with blackberry, leather and loamy aromas that require a bit of coaxing from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with rigid tannins, moderate depth, gentle grip and a slightly blocky finish. It's not close to the peaks that Gloria can achieve (and there have been several in recent years), but this is a swarthy Saint-Julien that should mellow with bottle age. Drink: 2030-2050
Quite a deep ruby colour. Pencil shavings, camphor oil and wood smoke form the nose with zesty red fruits. The fruit is well managed, but the acid shows real bite and builds to the finish. This is a sinewy, lithe Gloria with a pithy finish.
A solid, textural and well-structured red with dark plums and warm spices on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with fine, firm tannins. Juicy with some chocolate influence. Medium finish.
Deep garnet-purple colored. Rolls out with notes of red plums and black raspberries, plus touches of wild thyme and pencil shavings. Light to medium-bodied, the palate is chewy and refreshing with delicate flavors and a peppery finish.
Medium to full intensity deep plum colour, lovely spice, textured graphite, pumice, powerful and sculpted bright fruits, this is thoroughly enjoyable, a real success in a vintage.Triaud family owners, 34 hl/ha yield.
The 2024 Gloria is soft, fruity and very easy to like. Sweet red cherry/plum fruit, rose petal, lavender and mocha are nicely pushed forward. Gloria is very nicely balanced. It's a real charmer in 2024. Drink: 2026-2034
