Smoky silex and wet stone aromas are complicated by piquant citrus high notes and a subtle yeasty element. Large-scaled, intense and structured, showing a distinctly crisp character for its richness thanks to penetrating lemony acidity. The Moreaus' organic viticulture makes for relatively low pHs (3.2 in this 2014) but the acidity here is only 4.0 grams. Still, this vibrant, complete Chablis is built for the long haul.
**Note: from a huge 2.9 ha parcel**
This could not be mistaken for anything other than Chablis as there is plenty of typicity to the white fruit and floral scented nose. There is also excellent size, weight, power and richness to the middle weight plus flavors that exude ample minerality on the overtly saline and hugely long finish. This is flat out terrific and is a classic expression of the vineyard.
