The 1957 Rivesaltes has a darker hue compared to similarly aged vintages. The bouquet is in want of more definition, though like before, gains clarity with those telltale walnut and smoke aromas underneath an abiding touch of volatility. The palate is medium-bodied with white pepper and ginger, that background note of rhubarb and quite a persistent tail on the finish. Excellent. Tasted with Philippe Gayral. 2018 - 2035
100% grenache noir
