Barbaresco Albesani, Roagna 2016

Tasting Notes

The 2016 Barbaresco Albesani is holding back so much right now. With a few hours of air, the Albesani starts to reveal the inner sweetness and perfume that are so typical of wines from this Neive vineyard. Sweet dried cherry, rose petal, kirsch, cinnamon, orange peel and sweet tobacco open with a bit of coaxing. Like all the 2016s, the Albesani is painfully tannic at this stage. It clearly has a lot to offer for those who can wait for the searing tannins to soften, even if just a bit. Drink between 2026-2041.
