The 2010 Seifile is striking. Less opulent than it often is, in 2010 Seifile is built on bright aromatics, expressive acidity and fabulous length. Like all of the 2010s, the Seifile is intensely saline and mineral-driven, with a Pinot-like level of finesse. I expect the 2010 will offer considerable pleasure for the next decade, perhaps longer. Seifile is 80% old-vine Barbera and 20% Nebbiolo from Rombone. The Langhe Rosso category, so popular in the 1990s, is now pretty much dead in the water. Seifile is one of the wines that transcends its peer group and continues to offer class and pedigree to burn. (Drink between 2015-2025)
