Marsannay Clos du Roy, Garcia, Pierre-Olivier 2021

Tasting Notes

« Beetroot grapes » says Pierre-Olivier, meaning that they are on the larger side rather than the tiny berries which are the ideal – but he has still managed to make a beautiful wine out of them. Fresh concentrated purple. This Clos du Roy has a really racy lifted floral raspberry with a sense of fresh beauty and a fine fruit, tannin and acid balance. No sense of the 2021 vintage here. Drink from 2024-2027. Tasted Apr 2022.
