The 2023 Grüner Veltliner Ried Lamm, picked at the foot of the Heiligenstein, is grown on a mix of loess and sand debris. This golden wine retains a vestige of reduction that soon gives way to gentle savor, uniting white pepper, a touch of miso and crushed sage. Juiciness sweeps up these salty elements, landing on white miso spiciness and surrounding it with ripe, juicy yellow pear flavors. An edge of zestiness keeps the saltiness ever present, running like a thread through this wine, which could be just a tad longer. (Drink between 2028-2043)
