The 2020 Barolo Le Coste di Monforte is a brooding, explosive wine. A rush of macerated dark cherry, spice, new leather, tobacco and incense hits the palate. The 2020 offers tons of fruit intensity and presence. There’s less tannic heft than most years, but that just means the 2020 can be enjoyed with relatively minimal cellaring—for those who don’t mind a little baby fat. (Drink between 2027-2040)
