Flint and fine cedar lift from the glass before unfurling into white grapefruit, lime pulp and a hint of white nougat. Immediately pretty and pure, it gains charm with air as white florals, bath salts, talc and chalk dust emerge, the pithy grapefruit and oyster-shell minerality remaining central. Cashew cream and pastry dough fold in for nuance. The palate walks a fine line between texture and tension – creamy and buoyant yet driven by grapefruit, lime, talc, white florals and saline edge. Savoury cashew cream supports while finely etched, chalky phenolics frame the wine. Grapefruit acidity draws it long. Elegant, precise and complete. Drink from 2025-2033.
Planted on a cool, south-facing slope in Tarrawarra. Barrel fermented and matured in puncheons and barriques (27% new). A bright green gold. Seductive with its bouquet of fuzzy peach skins, apricot, lemon oil and a hint of fresh vanilla bean. Opulent and creamily textured, with a fine vein of acidity running through the wine that gives it both structure and length. Very long and very yum to drink now and in the short to medium term.
