Gevrey Chambertin Clos Saint Jacques, Domaine Bruno Clair 2009

Tasting Notes

**Note: from a 1 ha parcel of 40+ year old vines**
As is usually the case, this offers a big step up in aromatic refinement with its ripe, pure, cool and fresh nose that combines notes of red and blue pinot fruit plus wet stone, violet and hints of earth. The rich, intense and stone-inflected middle weight flavors are quite finely detailed and moderately austere while staining the palate on the seriously long and driving finish. Terrific.

The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St. Jacques is a wine of notable equilibrium. All of the elements come together beautifully in the glass as this chiseled, beautifully articulated wine conquers the palate and intellect. Sweet balsamic notes and floral overtones add dimension and complexity to the intense finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2029.
