The introductory cuvee, the 2008 Pauillac, is a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 55% Merlot. Another offering with a surprisingly lofty alcohol content for Bordeaux (13.5%), it is a smooth, fruit-driven Pauillac exhibiting plenty of black fruit, cedar, and fruitcake characteristics in a medium-bodied, lush, exuberant style. It should drink nicely for 5-7 years. Yields at this estate were among the lowest of the last 20 years, averaging 39 hectoliters per hectare.
