A possible sleeper of the vintage, this 2013 possesses plenty of licorice, black currant, underbrush and white chocolate aromas, medium body, sweet, pure, black currant flavors, very good to excellent concentration, and a long finish. Consume it over the next 10+ years.
The 2013 du Tertre has a light, pencil lead bouquet that is calling out for more fruit. It disconcertingly loses some vigor in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with tart cherry fruit on the entry, quite high acidity with a raw and abrasive finish. There are much better wines in recent vintages, but you probably know that already. Also tasted at the château in March 2016 with consistent notes.
This is really excellent for the vintage. A beautiful wine with berry, hints of hazelnut and chocolate. Medium body, fine tannins and a savory finish. The warmer soils in Tertre helped in the coolness of 2013.
The du Tertre has a focused bouquet of red berries and rose petals, nicely defined even if it does lack intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins on the entry. It is missing finesse and delineation, although it does have satisfactory length. Tasted April 2014.
