Tasting Notes

Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux tasting. The 2012 Lalande-Borie has a tightly wound bouquet, well-defined but yanking on the leash—blackberry and pine cone aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite supple in the mouth with well-judged acidity, appreciable density and a very classically-driven finish that has just the right amount of dryness to urge another sip. This is a well-crafted Saint Julien that should offer a decade's worth of pleasure. Tasted January 2016.
