Griotte Chambertin, Domaine Claude Dugat 2012

Tasting Notes

**Note: from a .16 ha parcel of 45+ year old vines**
A discreet but not invisible application of wood sets off the elegant, pure and marked ripe nose of baked cherry, plum and spice elements. There is a marvelously seductive and refined palate feel to the middle weight flavors that are supported by silky tannins that are well-buffered by the abundance of dry extract on the lingering, balanced and ever-so-slightly longer finish. This very firm effort is quite interesting as there is better energy than the nose suggests and overall this too is excellent.
