Vosne Romanée Les Brûlées, Domaine d'Eugénie 2013

Tasting Notes

**Note: from a 1.16 ha parcel of 60+ year old vines; there are two sections, one upper and one lower and this cuvée now uses only the upper portion; vinified with 33% whole clusters**
This is also exuberantly spicy with a relatively high-toned nose of various red berries, violet, lilac and Asian tea. There is good freshness and vibrancy to the concentrated, intense and voluminous flavors that display plenty of minerality on the palate coating and highly persistent finish. This is an elegant but muscular wine where the supporting tannins are clearly quite ripe. Worth checking out.

Dark purple. Wild on the nose, very vibrant. Rich and sweet underneath. Exuberant. This is flag-waving stuff somewhat in Leroy gourmand style though without quite the depth and base. Just a little fallaway on the finish. The oak insists a little. Lip smacking.

Strong reduction flattens the fruit but there is good freshness and vibrancy to the concentrated, intense and voluminous flavors that display plenty of minerality on the palate coating and highly persistent finish. This is an elegant but muscular wine where the supporting tannins are clearly quite ripe.
