Tasting Notes

Tasted at the Fine Wine Experience’s Pichon-Lalande vertical in London. Mature tawny rim. The nose is not showing the same level of brightness that the previous bottle last year. Very austere, leafy with tobacco and leather, less of the black fruits that before. The palate is still commendable with very fine balance, racy acidity, a little sharpness in the attack, firm tannins, still masculine and perhaps foursquare but showing good vigour and refinement towards the finish. This remains a very fine but linear ’66 Pauillac. Tasted December 2008.
